Case file #1029 · Detective: ZachXBT, Ghost Hunter
Who stole the $6.4B?
A Halloween whodunit. Parody. Every costumed suspect is cleared, because none of them did it: TRM Labs and Chainalysis linked the real hack to TraderTraitor, the Lazarus-linked group. Not affiliated with or endorsed by anyone depicted.
$6,400,000,000 left Binance-linked wallets in one night.
Drained across chains
Chainalysis put the take at about $6.4B, moved out of Binance-associated wallets on several blockchains in one run.
A familiar ghost
TRM Labs and Chainalysis linked it to TraderTraitor, the Lazarus-linked group blamed for Bybit's $1.5B in February 2025.
Some of it froze
Tether and Circle froze about $2.39B of the stolen stablecoins. Binance says it reserved $6.34B to cover users.
